“Reaching Cologne is like giving a present to a kid”
May 25, 2018
David Balaguer (Nantes) spoke to Chris O’Reilly at the VELUX EHF FINAL4 media call:
“This club has been developing year after year and I feel like I’ve grown up with my teammates. We become better and better, more confident and we know we can rely on each other. It’s a really nice feeling.”
“For me, reaching Cologne is like giving a present to a kid on his birthday. It’s a present to ourselves for a really good season.
“It will be so different playing against PSG here, the attitude of the players will be so different. We’ve played them so many times over the last few years and played well, but we’ve won a few and that gives us confidence. We’re not here to make up the numbers.”
“If we are realistic, we are not the best team here, but there’s a surprise winner almost every year. If you remember what Kielce did against Veszprém, it proves you can expect nothing. That’s why so many people come to this event and that’s the beauty of our sport.”
